Fun, cool, kitchy spot to stop for huli huli chicken, fresh produce, gifts, or rest stop. Especially after a long drive, it's a good half way point to Hana to stretch your legs.
Worth a stop. Decent food.
Fresh grill chicken taste awesome!
Beautiful place for a brake.
CASH ONLY!!! No reception here so they couldn’t use cards even if they wanted to. Otherwise everything looks suuuper yummy here.
There is no local impression at all. Looks like ordinary sales points with bad looking cabin like setting. Spend your time in a better place. You will pay as much anyway so why bother to spend your valuable time
Stopped here for coffee which was average.
The first place to stop on your drive around east Maui on your way to Hana. Local fares, and the best Coconut Shrimp we've ever had.
Great little place for a quick bite or cup of coffee. Great little gift shops as well.
Stopped over at Nahiku Marketplace during out journey to Hana. Small little place, a little bit overpriced(but I guess its pretty standard for Hawaii). I tried the coconut shrimp and chips, they were okay...not out of the world and definitely not worth $20.
I had small huli huli ribs at Max Bullah’s place yesterday. I couldn’t wait to get network to leave a well deserved 5 stars review for this great huli huli small restaurant. The cook showed outstanding kindness, I should have asked for his name!! He made my day, and the meal was simply delicious. Cash only, be prepared because it worth it!!
Great little place to stop at on the Road to Hana!
Food here is tasty! I loved the BBQ ribs! Sadly some of the restaurants were closed, and it was during peak season on a weekend.
An island vintage stop.
This was a fun little marketplace.
Located between mile markers 28 and 29 on the Hana Highway, this is a great place to stop for a meal or snack break. In addition to easy parking, there's a fruit stand and a variety of hot food options including barbecue, Thai food, tacos, and seafood/Chinese. There's also a cafe and a gift shop. All in all, a very nice place for a pit stop on the Road to Hana.
Great local market space
Such a cute and eclectic assortment of food stands and nic nacs. A lovely little gem along the most beautiful highway on Maui.
Best ribs we've had on Maui so far. Definitely worth the drive, and frankly the Hana Highway is part of the character appeal for this hidden gem. My wife and kids had the chicken and it was pretty great too. And for dessert we bought a sour sap from another nearby stall. I'd never heard of sour sap before but it turns out to be really delicious -- kind of like a strawberry taste with a little of the acidity of pineapple.
Fish and chips - so good
Great food a little pricey, but it's Hawaii. The coconut shrimp was excellent and enough to share tacos also delicious!
Fish and chips and coconut shrimp are the best
Best BBQ in a very unassuming location. Seems like a typical tourist spot but they know how to cook perfect bbq chicken and ribs.
Very good!
Had lunch here at the shrimp truck. Rather expensive and not with what we paid. Had the coconut shrimp. It was way too much coconut. Had to peal most of it off the shrimp.
Yum n fun.
Hulu hulu ribs tasty, chicken is okay
This place has such cute little souvenirs! They are made by 40 local artists-- so unique.
Great
The food was good! I liked the ribs!
Rest stop with amazing food options for the road weary travellers to/from Hana. Grilled chicken , pork, coconut shrimp tacos, pineapple coconut bread and Mac flavored coffee.
Nice little shops with food around
We stopped here for lunch on the way back from Hana. The BBQ was good but nothing special, I had the ribs and my wife had the chicken (which was a little better than the ribs).
The pictures make it look muuuch nicer than it is. However, knowing that, it is worth the stop. The ribs were good, as was fried fish. The coffee place was very disappointing, it just didn't taste good. It was a good rustic stop on the road to Hana.
It's an okay market place. It offers many of the typical items that you would want to purchase. But there is nothing that is mind-blowing in any way. There are plenty parking spaces. The parking area is reasonable. You should try to explore around town to find great places to visit like this one as an experience for your trip. Maybe you will find something magical on the way. Good luck!
Ate at the island chef. Well, actually, we ordered food from the island chef and threw away most of it. Not sure what form of "beef" they use, but it was chewy, fatty, and tasted terrible.Wish we had chosen a different spot to eat.
Great stop on the road to Hana lots of food and drinks available.
What a sneaky little treasure trove of things they sell here! From so ono lunch plates, snacks and fresh fruit to a fun little coffee spot - food is covered. Plus there are knick knacks, one of a kind jewelry and other sparkly or unique souvenirs here. We stayed for an hour but could have hung out all day!!!
Ribs were great, rice was plain - just brown rice so not much to say about it, there is bbq sauce and stuff to spice it up a bit. I would've got vegetables if they werent sold out (I showed up right at closing time though.) Did I mention the ribs were amazing? The chicken was good too. I would eat there again. The shave ice was fine, but the stuff we had in Paia, across from the fish market, was much better. The gentleman with the coconut candy and the "largest coconuts on the island" was friendly, he gave my kids free coconut shells to bang together. No need to listen to the radio the whole way back, just the relaxing sound of clacking coconut shells. I didn't make it to the coconut shrimp stand but my sister-in-law did. She said the fried rice was really good.
Very good food. People seemed somewhat rude. Spendy but worth it
It's a very Hawaiian thing to just show up when you want so depends on the day as to what or how many of the businesses will actually be open on any given day.The tacos place was not open on the day we came here so I had to settle for a place of rice with a shrimp skewer.
A really unique semi permanent food truck collection. Some solid options, all of which are better than you thought they'd be. Bathrooms are portables but they keep it really clean so it's pretty great overall.
This is a great place to stop for lunch or a snack while traveling the road to Hana. I especially loved the Shrimp Tacos and BBQ. There’s a truck for different kinds of juices, a small coffee and tea shop that sales baked good, and even a small souvenir store.
Great food right before Hana.
Nice little stop on the road to Hana, great ribs!
The chicken was great!
Whether it’s tacos or a strip loin plate from the sweetest local, Kaala (sorry if spelling is off), you gotta stop here for some of the best food in the island!
A bit pricey, but I get it.
Good place
Great food
